Sculptra Collagen Stimulation

Facial collagen loss is a key factor in an aging appearance.  Collagen acts as a support structure for your skin, provides overall volume and gives shape to your face.  At about 30 years of age, collagen loss decreases elasticity an moisture.  Sculptra Aesthetic stimulates collagen helping to replenish lost volume in your face.

The Woodlands Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. Lahiri uses collagen stimulator injections to correct shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds, by treating them with the appropriate injection technique.  Collagen stimulator injections are suitable for:

  • Deep folds between the nose and the mouth, also referred to as smile lines.
  • The lines framing your mouth
  • Chin winkles
  • Other Facial Wrinkles

Sculptra Aesthetic helps your body to regrow your own collagen over an extended period.  You can expect to see subtle, steady improvement in lines and wrinkles, resulting in a more youthful look.

Am I a Good Candidate?

Patients with age lines and hollow facial areas are candidates for Sculptra treatment. Ideal candidates are between 25 and 75 years of age. Healthy patients with realistic goals for restoring volume to hollow areas on their faces are excellent candidates for Sculptra treatment.

Note: Sculptra can restore the volume of your hollow facial areas. However, it cannot increase these areas’ volume past their original dimensions like an augmentation procedure would.

Your Sculptra Consultation

During your Sculptra consultation, you will discuss your aesthetic goals in detail. Your medical records and health will be evaluated, and your targeted age signs will be examined. Based on the assessment and your goals, a Sculptra treatment plan will be customized for you.

What Is a Sculptra Treatment Session Like?

Sculptra is an outpatient procedure that can be performed during your lunch break. It will usually take half an hour to complete a Sculptra treatment. The exact duration will vary depending on the number of injections and targeted areas.

Anesthesia will be administered to numb the target facial areas. The Sculptra dermal filler will then be injected using an injection with a small needle.

After Your Sculptra Treatment

After the treatment session, you do not need to go through a recovery process and can get back to work or your normal activities. The patient may experience temporary bruising and swelling in the treated areas on the first day.

Patients will be required to avoid sun exposure on the first week. Specific instructions will be provided, including the proper massage treatment to ensure even coverage for the treated areas. Depending on the goals, follow-up Sculptra sessions might be included in the treatment plan.

The Cost of Sculptra

The number of injections used will be included in the cost of Sculptra treatment. The anesthesia used to numb the targeted facial area will impact the overall price of the Sculptra procedure.
