What Is Jeuveau™?

Jeuveau™ is a popular non-surgical treatment designed to smooth moderate to severe glabellar (frown) lines.¹ This injectable’s main ingredient, botulinum toxin, can temporarily relax overactive facial muscles to produce a more youthful, refreshed appearance with little to no downtime. Our board-certified plastic surgeon in The Woodlands has extensive training in cosmetic injectables, and personally tailors each Jeuveau™ treatment plan to achieve subtle yet noticeable results.

What Does the Jeuveau™ Treatment Involve?

Your Jeuveau™ experience begins with a consultation with Dr. Lahiri. She will assess your facial anatomy, review your medical history, and advise you on how to prepare; this may include pausing certain medications or supplements to reduce the risk of bruising or other side effects.

On the day of the session, the targeted area will be cleansed and may be numbed with a topical anesthetic for added comfort. Dr. Lahiri will then carefully administer a series of quick injections based on your customized plan. The entire procedure generally takes just 15 to 30 minutes, often making it a convenient option for those with busy schedules.

Following a Jeuveau™ session, you may notice mild redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection site. These side effects should fade quickly, and applying a cold compress can help keep them under control.

For patients seeking more dramatic or long-lasting results than what Jeuveau™ can offer, a forehead lift may be considered the ideal procedure.

Jeuveau™ vs. DAXXIFY®

DAXXIFY® – another type of neuromodulator injectable – is similar in function to Jeuveau™, and both are used to reduce the appearance of glabellar (frown) lines. That said, the two treatments are not identical. DAXXIFY® is the only injectable of its kind that contains a novel peptide,² which may make it more suitable for individuals who do not respond optimally to Jeuveau™. Dr. Lahiri can help determine which treatment is best for you during your initial consultation.
